Leadership

Mr. Helmke is President and Chief Operating Officer of Motus Energy LLC and serves on the board of Motus Energy LLC and VH Midstream LLC. Mr. Helmke oversees all facets of operations, engineering, construction, and commercial activities alongside the other members of the executive team.

Mr. Helmke began his career in the midstream energy business in 1988 and has worked in a variety of roles in operations, HSE, commercial, and executive management. From 2013 to 2019, he was a partner at Howard Midstream Energy Services, a San Antonio-based fully integrated midstream company with an enterprise value of over $4 billion. From 1997 to 2009, he was the Director of Operations and Business Development for TransMontaigne Partners, LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley. Mr. Helmke also oversaw the trading, marketing, and supply of LPG along the U.S. Gulf Coast, along the Mexican border, and in the Rocky Mountain region.

Within the community, Mr. Helmke has recently served as a Board member of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Foundation and supports various charities including the United Way of Bexar County, United Way of Cameron County, Sunny Glen Children’s Home, and Skyhigh for Kids, LLC. He has previously served as a President of the Coastal Conservation Association, a non-profit environmental conservation organization, and as an advisory Board member of the Texas International Fishing Tournament.

Mr. Helmke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
